Remote Working Is the New Normal (for Now), but Is It Working for You?

According to a recent Newsweek article, companies and their workers are having a hard time adjusting to a remote work environment. Their statistics, derived from a survey by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), were eye-opening:

  • More than 70% of employers report struggling to adapt their business model for remote work.
  • Between 65% and 80% of employers indicate they had a challenge moving to a digital work environment. (Professional, scientific and technical services are having the hardest time.)
  • Nearly all employers said they were challenged to keep morale and enthusiasm up among their personnel.
  • Approximately 33% of employers said they are facing difficulties with company culture, employee productivity, and leave regulations.

This is a challenging time for companies in all industries, and reassurances that it won’t last forever don’t feel especially helpful. At Novatech, we’d like to offer something that is – a two-part series filled with tips on remote working. To brighten your day, we formatted the tips into colorful graphics that you can view, print, and share. Part one addresses employees; part two will assist employers. You can read both here: Part 1 Part 2

While it may seem like a platitude, it really will get better. You may discover that some of your employees perform better remotely. Once the crisis is over, you may even wish to adopt remote working on at least a partial basis. Either way, we can all look forward to a time when the choice will be ours.

At Novatech, we have been supporting remote work environments for years, and we frequently help organizations deploy remote solutions, from Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) to robust, remote Managed IT. Working remotely doesn’t have to require sacrifices, other than contact with your fellow workers and the candy machine in the breakroom.

It just seems that way, right now, because you don’t have a choice. Soon, you will.
